Olam: Human Capital Accounting

This practical example outlines Olam’s approach to human capital accounting which aims to evaluate the talent, skills and inspiration of their workforce, in the same way that they evaluate their financial assets. Olam recognizes that people are the drivers of their success; their workforce is essential to growing their financial capital.

They undertook two pilot projects which focused on the value of engaged employees and increased wages and benefits.

The results of the model predicts that Olam could add an additional S$1.78m in value by further improving employee engagement.
