Circles of Practice

National and sectoral communities accelerating the shift towards a sustainable economy

A4S Circles of Practice are communities that bring together finance leaders within a country or sector who are committed to embedding sustainability into core decision making. Each circle creates a trusted space for CFOs and their teams to learn from one another, share practical approaches and collectively accelerate the adoption of sustainable finance practices.

A4S Circles of Practice offer CFOs a structured yet flexible way to engage with A4S’s work, including exploring real‑world implementation challenges and applying the guidance developed by the A4S CFO Leadership Network.

Circle of Practice objectives

  • Accelerate progress through shared learning and collaboration – exchange insights, challenges and emerging practices to advance accounting for sustainability across countries and sectors. Collaborate on common issues to increase reach and impact.
  • Empower finance teams to build sustainable, resilient business models – explore the commercial, strategic and risk‑management benefits of integrating sustainability into finance.
  • Support implementation of A4S guidance – work together to apply tools and guidance from the A4S CFO Leadership Network, enabling sustainability to be embedded into decision making.
  • Influence the wider system – engage with investors, standard setters and other stakeholders to help shape the environment in which businesses operate and drive broader market transformation.
