Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand: The Quest for Prosperity: How can New Zealand keep Living Standards Rising for All

This paper, commissioned by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, examines New Zealand’s prosperity.

Drawing on the work of the Legatum Institute, and other sources, this paper examines the strengths of New Zealand’s prosperity through the lens of the Legatum Prosperity Index and explores areas where, in comparison to international peers, further improvements can be made.

The findings indicate that New Zealand has an overall strong prosperity rating, but points to three challenges to future progress: housing, inequality and global competitiveness.
