CARBON AVOIDANCE? ACCOUNTING FOR THE EMISSIONS HIDDEN IN RESERVES

Within the work of ACCA’s Carbon Avoidance project, the sustainability technical team together with Carbon Tracker have explored global reporting practices on fossil fuel reserves and the nature of any information gaps, looking at the extent that existing reporting standards governing company disclosures to financial markets require or enable the provision of useful information on fossil fuel reserves, as well as next steps to integrate emerging and future climate change risks into disclosures. A thought leadership report resulted from this project.
