The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Summit 2018 brought together global leaders from the accounting and finance community to reflect back on progress made, as well as look forward to key trends that will shape the future and actions necessary to respond to risks. 

The invitation only event provided an opportunity to explore practical approaches for organizations to respond to social and environmental risks and opportunities.

The Summit brought together participants covering A4S’s core communities, comprising CFOs, investors, regulators and senior representatives from global accounting and academia.

 

Opening Session: Shaping the Future

20th November

The Summit Opening Session explored trends that are shaping the future and the implications and opportunities for finance in response.

The event celebrated The Prince of Wales’s 70th birthday and the actions that His Royal Highness has helped to inspire. It then explored responses to climate change and other key sustainability trends through four themes: inspiring leadership, measurement and reporting, decision making, and financing.

Forum

21st November

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales shared his thoughts on the role of the finance community in achieving a sustainable world. This was followed by a speech by Mark Carney, the Governor of the Bank of England. The session finished with a discussion on the impact and action being taken by A4S’s core communities.

The Prince at 70

LONDON - UK - 11th July 2018. HRH The Prince of Wales hosts the Accounting for Sustainability, A4S Finance Leaders Summit at St James's Palace.

To celebrate the The Prince of Wales's 70th birthday, His Royal Highness was presented with 70 stories from individuals who have been inspired by HRH to take action to deliver resilient businesses and a sustainable economy. This was an opportunity to reflect on the impact A4S has made since its foundation in 2004, as well as the momentum which is growing.

2018 Survey Results

A4S reached out to finance professionals across all industries and finance functions around the world, to understand latest perceptions and attitudes to sustainability.
