IFAC: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

This explores the role of the global accountancy profession in contributing towards the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

The publication highlights the discussion from The IFAC Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee workshops held to discuss how the global accountancy profession can contribute to the success of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and what the SDGs mean for professional accountants.

It details opportunities for the profession to contribute to the SDGs, in particular: Quality education (Goal 4); Gender equality (Goal 5); Decent work and economic growth (Goal 8); Industry, innovation, infrastructure (Goal 9); Responsible consumption and production (Goal 12); Climate action (Goal 13); Peace and justice and strong institutions (Goal 16); and, Partnerships for the goals (Goal 17).
