Vodafone: measuring and disclosing scope 3 emissions

Vodafone is one of the world’s largest mobile phone operators and a UK-based multinational telecommunications and IT services company providing fixed line and mobile networks to over 340 million customers across Europe and Africa.

Its ambition is to achieve net zero emissions across the full value chain by 2040 and halving scope 3 emissions by 2030 – 96% of the company’s total emissions from continuing operations in FY2025.

To achieve this, Vodafone transferred the responsibility for measuring and reporting its environmental, social and governance (ESG) data – including scope 3 emissions – from the sustainability team to the finance team.

The case study outlines how the shift is improving the quality and integrity of ESG data, enabling wider transformational change across the entire business.

Download the case study to learn how integrating ESG data processing into finance can strengthen data quality and accelerate business-wide transformation – with practical tips from Vodafone.
