Mobilizing Japan’s finance community to accelerate the transition to net zero

In collaboration with the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero Japan Chapter (GFANZ).

ABOUT THE ROUNDTABLE

Date: 10th July 2024
Time: 15:30 – 18:00 (JST), followed by networking reception from 18:00 – 19:00
Location: Tokyo, Japan

Japan’s carbon emissions make it the world's fifth-largest carbon emitter. With the right investment decisions, Japan’s finance and investment leaders can make a significant contribution to the fight against climate change. But while awareness has grown, the pace of change must accelerate rapidly, and flows of capital must be redirected at scale to fund the transition to net zero. To achieve this, it is critical to engage with key stakeholders to direct capital towards climate solutions.

The aim of this session is to explore key challenges, share insights and hear from peers on how to align investment strategies to a net zero transition in Asia Pacific by 2050. The event will include insights and dialogue on global trends and how organizations in Japan can navigate them.

The roundtable shall:

  • Provide an enabling and confidential environment for participants to share insights and explore shared challenges.

  • Increase understanding of the corporate and investor individual priorities around the net zero transition agenda and enhance the quality of investor/corporate engagement.

  • Provide a learning space to engage in frank and open dialogues and motivate participants to continue the discussion with peers and others across the financial ecosystem.
