World Forum on Natural Capital
The inaugural World Forum on Natural Capital took place in Edinburgh in 2013 and was the first major global conference devoted to this topic of growing significance. The second World Forum took place two years later, bringing together 600 business leaders, government representatives and environmental experts from 45 countries.
The third World Forum on Natural Capital will take place in Edinburgh on 27-28 November 2017 and will again be at the forefront of developments in this rapidly evolving field.
On the theme of ‘Better decisions for a better world’, the event will explore how integrating natural capital principles into decision-making – including within finance and the wider green economy – can help secure better social, economic and environmental outcomes, reducing business risks and driving innovation.
World-class plenaries and interactive breakout sessions in four conference streams will provide insights into emerging trends, evidence from cutting-edge case studies and an opportunity to shape future developments.
High-level networking will facilitate collaboration and learning between different sectors, with new sessions planned for 2017.
The World Forum is once again being organised by the Scottish Wildlife Trust in association with the United Nations Environment Programme; International Union for Conservation of Nature; World Business Council for Sustainable Development; Natural Capital Coalition and our newest partner the Green Economy Coalition.
