This four-hour, CPE-eligible workshop, hosted by A4S, brings together accounting and finance leaders for a practical, discussion-driven exploration of the evolving sustainability reporting landscape. Participants will hear the latest regulatory developments and engage with expert perspectives on what the new requirements mean in practice. The majority of the workshop is designed as facilitated peer dialogue — covering data quality and control environments, the tools and technology needed to operationalise reporting, and how leading organisations are moving beyond compliance to use sustainability data as a genuine driver of internal decision-making. Participants will leave with a clearer picture of where the reporting landscape is heading, what good preparation looks like, and how peers are navigating similar challenges.

Who should attend

  • Finance, Accounting and Internal Audit professionals that have (or will have) direct involvement with sustainability-related reporting and disclosure.
  • Given the collaboration required for sustainability reporting, this workshop is also open to sustainability professionals alongside their finance and accounting colleagues.

Course objectives

After attending the workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the current state of sustainability reporting regulations — including ISSB, CSRD and US developments — and their implications for their organisation
  • Assess the maturity of their organisation's control environment for sustainability data and identify priority areas for improvement
  • Evaluate tools and technology approaches being used by peers to meet reporting requirements efficiently and at scale
  • Identify opportunities to use sustainability data beyond disclosure — to support strategic planning, capital allocation and performance management
