Disruptive Technology Workshops

Technology, Sustainability and Finance

Technology is reshaping the role of finance, a trend that is set to accelerate over the coming years. At the same time, businesses are taking advantage of new technologies to tackle sustainability related risks and develop solutions in response. If businesses can harness the power of disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality (VR) and blockchain to address the system level challenges we face, huge societal benefits could be unlocked.

To date, however, few have looked at the intersection of these three areas: finance, technology and sustainability, to explore how finance teams might be able to leverage technology to play a leadership role in the creation of sustainable value, so shaping their own role into the future. This workshop series seeks to close the gap.

The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) and PwC are bringing together industry leaders through series of workshops. Through group working sessions, presentations and live demos of disruptive technologies, including a chance to step into a world of the future using PwC’s VR experience, attendees can collaborate across industries, organizations and functions and take action to build businesses fit for the future.

Our next event will be held on 28th October 2019 in Frankfurt. To find out more information please see the event page here.

Future events will be held in key cities around the world. To register your interest, please email: events@a4s.org.

“It’s important for technology sustainability and finance to work together because we're not operating in isolation. There's a lot happening in the world as a whole and none of those things are siloed. So collaboration, working together and being enabling so we make each other's lives easier is really important.”
