Our management team

The project management team consists of the following:

Jessica Fries, Project Director

Jessica is currently on secondment to the project from PricewaterhouseCoopers where she provides advice and assurance to public, private and third sector organisations on ways to more effectively identify, manage and report on sustainability issues, and integrate into core business activities. Jessica has worked with a wide range of organisations during her time with PwC including Royal Dutch Shell, National Grid, Centrica, The Commission for a Sustainable London 2012, Anglo American and the Environment Agency. Jessica is a chartered accountant, has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Karen McCulloch, Project Manager

Karen is a Senior Manager on secondment from KPMG where she has worked for over 13 years, principally in their Consumer and Industrial Market audit practice. She has worked with a number of international companies with listings across Europe as well as in the US and operating in diverse fields such as pharmaceuticals, consumer products and automotive manufacturing. She has a strong interest in the environment and particularly in how businesses are impacted by social and environmental factors, and the degree to which sustainability reporting reflects the underlying reality of how sustainability is regarded and embedded within organisations.

Mike Reid, Project Manager

Mike is currently on secondment to the project from Grant Thornton where he is a manager in their Energy, Environment and Sustainability team in Edinburgh. He has provided financial and strategic advice to both public and private sector organisations on renewable projects. This has included projects with renewable energy companies and financial institutions on the strategic options for Feed in tariffs for small scale renewable energy developments and financial advice relating to the development of larger renewable projects. Mike has also worked in senior financial roles in a range of industries including electronics and telecoms where he managed projects in the Far East and Australia. Mike is a chartered accountant, has a BCom in Business Studies and Accounting and is also a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner in Project Management.

Victoria Lyon, Project Manager

Victoria is currently on secondment to the Accounting for Sustainability project from Deloitte where she is an active member of the Climate Change and Sustainability network and has provided corporate tax advice to organisations in the Energy, Infrastructure and Utilities sector. Her experience at Deloitte has included a secondment as Project Manager to a start-up organisation investing in Rainforest Projects and spending time working in India. Victoria is passionate about developing the capacity for organisations to embed sustainability issues into their business and financial strategies and corresponding day-to-day decision making processes. Victoria is a chartered accountant and has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Durham.

Bethan Walker, Project Coordinator

Bethan has worked in both the public and private sector, and has provided media relations within the industrial, technology and financial sectors, which included research regarding sustainable architecture and contributing to a FTSE 100 CSR campaign. She has also provided outreach support to an advisory NDPB on women's rights, and previously worked at the Greater London Authority drafting correspondence and arranging events relating to the London boroughs. Bethan is looking forward to using her interest in sustainable living to contribute to the goals of the Accounting for Sustainability Project. Bethan has a BA in English Literature from the University of Warwick.
