Jessica Fries, Executive Chairman of The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S), spoke at the Eiris event on 19th March in London, asking “How can investors invest sustainably to reduce risk and identify investment opportunities?”

The event asked:

Which sustainability themes are relevant to investors, and why?

What does a sustainable investment strategy look like?

How can investors integrate sustainability issues? How best to overcome some of the challenges involved?

What should investors be asking for at the Rio+20 Earth Summit?

Following the event, EIRIS launched their Sustainability Ratings Service. Speaking at the event Jessica Fries said: “Rio+20 is a step on the path towards sustainability, not an end goal in itself. The Rio+20 process presents an opportunity for investors to engage governments at national and international level and to establish frameworks to drive sustainable outcomes”.
